5th – 7th September 2023
This week we did our first setup of the year which was a talk show style setup where we interviewed past students and Guy in person and via a live stream
Wednesday 13th September 2023
This was our Manual Handling, Ladder Saftey and Evac Chair demonstrations for the first years and recap for us second years.
Thursday 14th September 2023
This was a test for proscenium arch setup where we made a 6×4 meter truss frame with a 4×3 meter stage backed with flats to block in the staging and make it look a bit nicer. I also rigged a flat onto the truss to project onto as it was something different to normal and involved projection mapping as it isn’t an exact 16:9 screen.
Thursday 21st September 2023
This week we started our fashion show drafts for the 2023 coat collection. In my opinion the first two designs weren’t the best we’ve had as they weren’t very planned or thought through however the second one (see image) did look quite nice and could have been even better had we had more time to think about it and design it properly.
Tuesday 26th September 2023
Over the weekend Me and a couple of the first years designed the final fashion show draft. We came up with the idea of making it a ‘V’ shape as it was something different and seemed like a bit of a challenge, so we wrote down the rest of our ideas and I created a 3D mock-up of it all in Capture (see image 1+2). On the Tuesday we stared to build the design we me being PM (see image 3+4).
27th – 28th September 2023
Wednesday was a continuation from where we finished on Tuesday, so we put the rest of the trussing up the staging and most of the lights (see image 1+2). Thursday was our final day on this setup, so we spent the day focusing the lights, tidying and making last minute adjustments leaving us with our final Draft (see image 3+4).
Tuesday 3rd October 2023
Last week we found that one of the projectors was playing up so today we took it apart to fix it. apon inspection we founf that the fan just needed cleaning and the secondry fan wasn’t pluged in properly.
Friday 13th October 2023
This was a taster day for secondry schools to see what happens at college. We has to do 3 Production Arts Workshops with them during wich we showd them how to rigg rights, use the light and sound desks and what AV is. At the end of the day we put on a little Musical Theatre Concert.
Wednesday 1st November 2023
This was when we started to set up for our winter coat Fashion show 2023. We decided to use our third draft for the final setup so I was in charge of the rigging and setting up as it was my design, However the Ma2 lighting desk’s touchscreen decided not to work.
Saturday 4th November 2023
I was lucky enough to setup and use a Gloshine 4.8mm LED screen for work. This involved the building, sizing, programming and operating the screen.
